There are multiple ways to configure your delivery management:
- Internal delivery service only
- External courier company(ies) only
- Internal delivery service with one or multiple external courier companies
Internal delivery service
An internal delivery service is when you manage deliveries within your organization. This configuration lets the administrator manage his couriers directly with their administrator credentials.
If your company's delivery service also delivers for another organisation, that service will be considered an external courier company from the point of view of the other organization.
External courier company
An external delivery company is managed by a third party such as an independant courier company. When using an external delivery company, it is their responsability to manage the couriers through their own account for courier management.
An external courier company can work for mutliple organizations. All couriers of the external courier company can potentially see every order.
To link with an external courier company, please refer to Managing Courier Link (external courier company).
Internal delivery service with one or multiple external courier companies
The first two ways of configuring your delivery method can co-exist for a single company. For example, it is possible to use an internal delivery service and work with multiple external courier companies.
While using this method, all courier(s) (from both internal delivery service and external courier companies) can potentially see all orders.
